Terms & Conditions

Samoëns Nannies is acting as an introductory service only. We do not employ the nannies in any way. They are all self employed persons responsible for their own tax, first aid and liability insurance. You as the client employ the nanny and are responsible for paying the nanny on the date stated in your booking form. The client takes full responsibility in deciding whether to employ the nanny.

Confirming your booking of a nanny and signing the booking form confirms the acceptance of these terms and conditions

All agreed fees should be paid in Euros. This should be done via electronic banking (BACS), unless otherwise agreed. We would recommend using a company such as Transferwise, many of our clients do. A booking fee is required to secure your booking. This is to be paid at the time of signing the contract. A signed contract does not secure the booking unless the booking fee has also been received.

An email will be sent to remind you when your nanny payment is due (8 weeks before your booking). If the remaining nanny payment has not been paid within 7 days of the due date and after a further reminder has been sent, then we have the right to cancel the booking. The booking fee will not be returned.

Unfortunately we do not give any refunds if the weather is bad and you are unable to take part in the activities you had planned. Though we are more than happy to suggest some alternatives ways to spend your time instead.

We would highly recommend that you take out travel insurance to cover any events that would result in your trip being cancelled involuntarily.  Should the resort have to close or one or more members of your party come down with Covid19 or other illness that forces you to cancel, we will provide you with an invoice so that you can claim from your insurance company. The following termination of  the contract applies.

Termination of the contract:

If the Client terminates the contract

The Client has the right to terminate the contract without incurring any cancellation fee only if the Holiday Nanny fails to provide the services to a reasonable standard or in the unlikely event that a nanny can not be found, otherwise the following apply:

- During the contracted period the client will pay the Holiday Nanny the remainder of fees due to have been paid during the contracted period.

- Within 2 weeks of the agreed contract start date the client will pay 75% of the total fees due to have been paid during the contracted period.

- Between the payment due and 2 weeks before before the agreed start date the client will pay 50% of the total fees due to have been paid during the contract period.

The booking fee is non refundable

If the Holiday Nanny terminates the contract:

The Holiday Nanny has the right to terminate the contract at any time. Upon which the following terms would apply:

- Before the agreed start date, the nanny payment will be refunded to the Client. The booking fee will be refunded if no alternative nanny is available.

- During the contracted period, the Holiday Nanny will refund the Client for any unworked hours deducting any expenses owed. (If a replacement cannot be found) The booking fee is non refundable.

Your Nanny

Full profiles for the nannies are available on request and shortened versions can be found on the website. While we will check references and certificates of all nannies that we recommend to our clients. The client takes full responsibility in deciding whether to employ the nanny.

8 weeks before your booking you will receive an email giving you final payment details. In this we will confirm your nanny and give you their contact details. It is your responsibility to contact your nanny before you arrive in resort to arrange a time for them to come and meet the family.

We will try to provide the same nanny for the entirety of your booking but this may not always be possible. You will be notified of this if it is the case when you are booking. There may be times (due to illness or injury etc) where the nanny has to be replaced even if the booking has already started. This will not be accepted as a reason to cancel and no monies will be refunded if you decide to cancel once an alternative has been offered.

If your nanny drives then they will have business car insurance should the need arise to take the child/ren out in her car (a suitable child car seat/s should be provided by the client). Any mileage done in the Holiday Nanny’s own car at the request of the client should be discussed when booking and mileage costs will be quoted.

Your Responsibilities

If the nanny is requested to do any driving of the children while in resort then the parents must provide suitable car seats for the children. The individual nanny is responsible for their own insurance to drive the children and making sure the car is roadworthy.

Emergency contact details for the parents should be provided to the nanny in case of any accidents involving the parents.

If the nanny is requested to do any shopping, buying items or purchasing activities for the children then money should be provided by the parents beforehand. The nanny will not use their own money for these items to be reimbursed at a later date. Receipts will be obtained where possible

The contracted hours days and times may be extended or changed at the request of the Client with the advance agreement of the Holiday Nanny.

All future bookings or any extra hours you would like must be arranged via Samoëns Nannies and not directly with the nanny.

Health, Safety and Medical Requirements

If your child is has a high temperature, an illness, contagious disease and/or diarrhoea during your booking then the holiday nanny will not be able to look after the child until after they have been symptom free for 48 hours. No refund will be given.

Any physical health issues or mental health issues in regards to the child/ren must to be declared to Samoëns Nannies at the time of booking to make sure that the provided nanny is aware and competent to do the job. If this is not done the booking may need to be cancelled and no monies will be returned.

Emergencies. The nanny will try and get hold of you in the first instance but care of the child comes first and if they deem emergency medical assistance is necessary, they will contact the relevant people.

Samoëns Nannies take no responsibility for any incidents or accidents that occur while your child is in the care of your nanny. We check all references of our nannies and ensure they are First Aid Trained but it is your decision to accept these checks and employ the nanny. The individual nanny is required to have insurance to cover them should any accidents happen.

If you require (or might require) the nanny to administer any medicines to your children then written and signed instructions of this must be given and times of the last dose given included. This includes Calpol, inhalers and anti-histamines

The client agrees to notify the Samoëns nanny with details of any health and safety issues in regards to the property the care takes place at or in regards to the child/ren.
