Our Team 2022/2023

We have a very small team this year, just me and Alex.

Hello, I’m Valerie, I have been taking care of children of all ages for over 20 years.  I trained for 2 years to become Nursery School Teacher and gained an ECEC qualification in childcare from Birth to 6 years. I have worked mainly as a nanny in various locations around the world, looking after children of all ages.
I am certified in Paediatric First Aid, fully insured and also have an OCN certificate in Maternity Nursing.
Through my work I have looked after children from birth through to teenagers, though I specialise in babies and young children.  I am very active and enjoy being outdoors with the children getting to know them, finding adventures and discovering the mountain or the village, but equally I like experimenting with crafts and paints and playing in the house if the weather is bad or the children need a rest.
When I’m not working I enjoy backpacking and traveling to exciting new places, scuba diving, or visiting my family back home in Zimbabwe.
I love skiing and have been visiting Samoëns for over 20 years, and I have been living here for 8 years now and thoroughly enjoy it.  I see it as my job to keep your children happy, cared for and entertained so that you can all enjoy your skiing holiday at this wonderful resort.

Hello, I’m Alex, I’m originally from Liverpool but I’ve lived in France and Belgium on and off since the age of 18. I’m  a qualified teacher and have spent a large part of the last 20 years teaching languages to predominantly children and young people. Over that period of time I’ve also looked after children from 1 year olds to teenagers.

I’ve got two children of my own, aged 6 and 2, and have experience of neurodiversity since my own son is a divergent thinker.

I’m paediatric first aid trained, fully insured and I love working with kids because of their creativity, energy and imagination! When I’m not working or spending time with my family, I love travelling and exploring on foot, bike or water.

Although I’ve been visiting Samoëns for 8 years, I’m not much of a skier yet, but I’m hoping that I’ll become one as I spend more time living in the mountains, having moved here permanently last summer.
