Our Team 2025/2026

Hello, I’m Valerie, I have been taking care of children of all ages for over 20 years.  I trained for 2 years to become Nursery School Teacher and gained an ECEC qualification in childcare from Birth to 6 years. I have worked mainly as a nanny in various locations around the world, looking after children of all ages.

I am certified in Paediatric First Aid, fully insured and also have an OCN certificate in Maternity Nursing.

Through my work I have looked after children from birth through to teenagers, though I specialise in babies and young children.  I am very active and enjoy being outdoors with the children getting to know them, finding adventures and discovering the mountain or the village, but equally I like experimenting with crafts and paints and playing in the house if the weather is bad or the children need a rest.

I love skiing and have been visiting Samoëns for over 20 years, and I have been living here for 9 years now and thoroughly enjoy it.  I have a young son of my own now and so have had to cut down the hours I do. But when I'm working I see it as my job to keep your children happy, cared for and entertained so that you can all enjoy your skiing holiday at this wonderful resort.

Bonjour, I'm Roxane! I come from Paris and I've worked as a nanny in the ski resorts for the past 10 years.

18 years ago, I got a diploma called BAFA in France that trains you to look after children for summer holiday camps. Then I started to work in a "centre de loisirs", nursery and primary schools of Paris. I loved it because it was a very difficult and a poor district and I felt so useful in those children's lives. It was a real mission to make them have the best holiday without being able to move away from town.

In the mean time, I graduated as an art teacher for secondary and high-school, and because I am an artist myself, I love to animate, juggle, be creative, artistic and make craft, always in relation with wildlife and snowy landscapes.

Thanks to my long working experience as a child-leader, I can keep the children entertained with a lot of activities and games, songs or storytelling. I love to take them outdoors on explorations and adventures in the "wild". I have a fertile imagination and I always find a way to have fun, with the help of my little toys I carry everywhere! Moreover, I take my job very seriously because I think both emotional and physical security comes first.

I am also certificated in First Aid for babies and children. I really want the children to be happy and to feel safe with me. I have looked after kids from 2 to 12 years old at school or as an au-pair, but I have a lot of experience now with babies too.

My hobbies are painting, playing music and dancing, but my first passion is horses. I do all kinds of sport and enjoy nature, but horse riding is my favourite!

I love to hike through the wildest areas like, Norway, Scotland or Canada. I'm a globe-trotter, I travel a lot and this increased my flexibility and my nerve. I never panic in stressful situations and I'm open to all possibilities. Of course, one of my favourite hobbies is snowboarding!

I have a strong admiration for Nature and it is one of my aims to relay this respect to the Children

Hello, I’m Alex, I’m originally from Liverpool but I’ve lived in France and Belgium on and off since the age of 18. I’m  a qualified teacher and have spent a large part of the last 20 years teaching languages to predominantly children and young people. Over that period of time I’ve also looked after children from 1 year olds to teenagers.

I’ve got two children of my own, aged 7 and 3, and have experience of neurodiversity since my own son is a divergent thinker.

I’m paediatric first aid trained, fully insured and I love working with kids because of their creativity, energy and imagination! When I’m not working or spending time with my family, I love travelling and exploring on foot, bike or water.

Although I’ve been visiting Samoëns for 9 years, I’m not much of a skier yet, but I’m hoping that I’ll become one as I spend more time living in the mountains, having moved here permanently last summer.
